Tubban said Duyan's great legacy apart from the awards and honors is the legacy of leading by good example and serving with the public as the priority.

While relating Duyan's contribution in public service as the first congressman and the first elected governor of Kalinga-Apayao, he said the man became one of few people who made him want to go into serving the people through public office.

“After diay visit na, intu nu agawaid ket apan kanu kitan ni mama diay kwarto kasla awan kanu ti nag idda, kasla haan nga nausar,” he narrated.

Nevertheless, Tubban conveyed it is an honor for him to know the accomplishments of a man like Captain Juan M. Duyan, “this is a legacy a mabalin a kanayun nga isu ti paka in-inspire an amin dagiti aanak tayo,” he stressed.
