Investigation underway over discovery of dead woman in Isabela corn field

Ilagan, Isabela – Investigation is underway for a woman that was found dead in a cornfield at Purok 4, Sta. Catalina, Ilagan, on Monday, January 16.

The victim went out of their house on Sunday morning and proceeded to their corn field to plant some vegetables, according to his live-in partner.

The victim, Marites Macanas, 51, did not come home since then.

It was only on the next day that her partner Richard Quitola, 51, searched for her at the cornfield.

Once there, he discovered the woman’s lifeless body.

The incident was reported to authorities that immediately proceeded to the area to investigate, along with them are personnel from Isabela Provincial Forensic Unit.

Details surrounding the woman’s death are still unknown but an ongoing investigation is being pursued by Ilagan police.
