Jealous man hacked live-in partner to death in Pinukpuk

Pinukpuk, Kalinga ̶ An allegedly jealous and intoxicated man hacked his live-in partner to death Saturday evening, April 10, in Cullayanan, Junction.


Case investigator, PSMg Zyq Liggayo in his initial report said that the 45-year-old suspect who is from Cebu City hacked the victim after a heated argument. Allegedly because of jealousy, he accused the victim is having an affair with her first partner whom she had three children.


He first hacked her on the back then on the front part of her body. When the victim fell on the ground, the suspect hacked her several times more.

The police reported that the suspect did not stop attacking the victim even when the family of the victim who live a few meters away came and tried to stop him. When he attempted to cause another hack wound on the victim, allegedly the victim’s mother, with her hand, blocked his attempt.


It was only when the other relatives came that the suspect was restrained.



The victim was rushed to the hospital but she was declared dead on arrival.


The suspect is now under the custody of the Pinukpuk Municipal Police Station to be charged with murder and frustrated murder.

Further, Liggayo said that the suspect has an existing warrant of arrest issued in San Mateo, Rizal for robbery.


Police also discovered that the victim has been allegedly abused by the suspect and that she was being threatened not to tell anybody.
