Kalinga deploys 948 law enforcers, education personnel for Election Day

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Some 948 personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and the Department of Education (DepEd) in Kalinga in charge of securing the May 9 National and Local Elections were deployed on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, through a send-off ceremony at Camp Captain Juan M Duyan, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.


The send-off ceremony for the security forces, government workers, and volunteers is a nationwide simultaneous activity, signifying the preparedness of those who will be offering their services to ensure a safe and secured election.

PLTCOL Jacob Dangpason during the event facilitated the turn-over of forces and resources, while the acceptance was made by Election Assistant ll Garry Bantali, who represented Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Elenita Julia Capuyan.


In a message, Acting Police Provincial Director PCOL Peter Tagtag Jr. reminded the police officers to practice maximum tolerance and observe discipline and professionalism in the conduct of their respective tasks as safety officers.

“Let us ensure a smooth, peaceful, and safe voting and guarantee the safety of the voting public and election officials by enforcing the minimum public health standards,” he said.

He added that as deputized agents of the Commission on Elections, the PNP, AFP, and other law enforcement agencies, are to perform specific duties relative to the conduct of the election.

And as a non-partisan organization, he reminded that they shall maintain their stance and never engage nor endorse any political candidate.


On the part of the Department of Education, whose personnel will serve as poll workers, their officials extended their gratitude and committed that they will be giving their full cooperation to the COMELEC, PNP, AFP, and all agencies to achieve a clean, orderly, peaceful, and credible election.

Major Andy Raymundo who represented 501B, PA Commanding Officer, LTC Melanio Somera, also encouraged all security forces to collaborate with their partner agencies in providing ensure safety and security during the May 9 polls.
