P94 M downloaded to Kalinga PLGU for indigent patients - KPH Chief

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Indigent patients in Kalinga shall continuously benefit from medical assistance when getting medical care at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital with the P94 million funds downloaded to the Provincial Local Government of Kalinga.


Officer in Charge - Chief of Hospital Rey Aranca announced over the weekend that the funds from the national government have already been downloaded and is ready for utilization.

Aranca said the fund will be used by indigent patients, particularly those admitted to regular wards, to pay their medical bills.


He clarified that those admitted to private wards will not qualify as beneficiaries of said assistance.


The medical assistance shall cover drugs and medicines included in the Philippine National Formulary, laboratory, imaging, radiological and other diagnostic procedures, blood screening, all clinically indicated medical and surgical devices, supplies, and other relevant procedures.


“Kasali ti agas nga awan dita hospital ken dadduma pay bayadan ti MAIP (Medical Assistance for Indigent Patients program),” he explained.


For inquiries regarding medical assistance, Aranca said yKalingas may visit his office on the second floor of KPH, or they may ask directly at the medical facility’s cashier’s office.


To recall, the downloading of said funds was made possible through the forging of a Memorandum of Agreement between the Department of Health-Cordillera represented by Regional Director Dr. Rio Magpantay, and the provincial LGU led by Governor James Edduba.
