Man in Cagayan arrested for murder while getting police clearance

Iguig, Cagayan – Police authorities arrested a 32-year-old man who was allegedly wanted for murder, while claiming a police clearance Wednesday, August 23.

While securing said document at the Iguig Police Station 10 a.m. of said date, authorities found that ‘Alyas John’ has a standing warrant of arrest for said case after checking the suspect’s background.


‘Alyas John’, single, a resident of Amulung, Cagayan but a native of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, had a warrant issued by Hon. Kathrine A. Go, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 59 in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental dated November 29, 2016.


He is now in the custody of PNP Iguig for documentation before his turnover to the court of origin.

The court did not recommend bail for the suspect's temporary freedom.


To recall, criminal records nationwide have been combined into a single, unified database, and the police now use this centralized system. This facilitates faster and easier checking and validating of criminal histories.
