More than 100 students ‘possessed by spirits’ in Tuao, Cagayan school

Tuao, Cagayan – More than a hundred of high schoolers were believed to have been possessed by spirits at a public school in Tuao on March 16, the town police reported.

Students and teachers of the Itawes National High School – Alabug Campus who witnessed the scene recounted to police authorities that the incident happened all of a sudden on Thursday morning.

They described that some of the learners suddenly started crying and screaming while at least 40 lost consciousness. The latter were brought to the Tuao District Hospital while the former were taken to Holy Guardian Angel Parish.

When they calmed down, these learners relayed they have no memory of what transpired.

No one was harmed among the students who were sent home after the incident.

According to Tuao Police Chief, PMaj. Jhun-Jhun Balisi, same incident was also brought to their attention last year. However, it was not as massive as this one.

Investigation of the case is ongoing.
