Mt. Province donates P.4M cash and other goods to aid Cagayan and Isabela

Bontoc, Mt. Province – The Provincial Government of Mountain Province handed over today an amount of P400,000.00 and donations to the Provincial Local Government Unit of Isabela and Cagayan.


Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. this morning sent off two teams from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to bring said assistance to the two provinces.


According to the report of PLGU Mt. Province, in-kind and cash donations were received from different LGUs and constituents of the province which were sorted and prepared on Wednesday, November 18.


Donations given included hygiene kits, blankets, assorted fruits and vegetables, canned goods, bottled water, rice and other basic necessities.


Further stated in the report is that the team led by PDRRMO Edward F. Chumawar, Jr. takes the route to Tuguegarao, Cagayan while the other team led by LDRRMO IV Joseph Padcayan takes the route going to Ilagan, Isabela.


Along with the group are personnel of the police force led by Mountain Province Police Provincial Office - Police Community Relations Officer Roy T. Awisan (Team 1) and Police Lieutenant Elijanuaren Marcos A. Paloy (Team 2).


PDRRMC-Mountain Province in coordination with Municipal DRRM Council in the province announced on Tuesday on their page that they are accepting cash and in-kind donations which was immediately responded upon by several sectors and private individuals in the province.


Donations which are yet to be turned over to the PDRRMO as announced will be included in the Donation Drive: Batch 2 for the affected areas.


Cagayan and Isabela suffered severely because of the flooding brought about by the occurrence of Typhoon Ulysses. Said flooding resulted to injuries, loss of lives, damage to properties, infrastructures and agriculture.


Several LGUs in the Cordillera had already sent their help which include relief and rescue operations to these provinces after being informed of the situation being experienced by residents living in these areas.
