For years, travelers crossing the Cordillera highlands of Mt. Province have stopped at Mount Polis to admire its sweeping mountain views, cool climate, and breathtaking sea of clouds.

Now, one of province's most iconic landscapes is poised to reach an even wider audience as it becomes a filming location for the upcoming movie “Tayo sa Wakas,” starring popular Filipino love team Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano.

Nestled along the terrains of Bagnen, Bauko, Mount Polis is known for its towering elevation, pine-covered slopes, and thick fog that often blankets the area. These natural features have made it one of the most picturesque destinations in the Cordillera region.

Its stunning scenery has now caught the attention of filmmakers.

Scenes from the upcoming film, which is still in production, have already generated excitement online after photos and videos from the set began circulating on social media.

The images showcased Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Polis, introducing many viewers to the mountain’s unique beauty.

An off-camera moment shared by the Bauko Tourism Office showed the two stars enjoying the highland scenery as they took photographs amid the misty landscape.

One of the most striking sights captured during filming was the mountain’s famous “sea of clouds,” where thick clouds blanket the valleys below, creating the illusion of standing above the sky itself.

For many tourists, the sea of clouds has long been one of Mount Polis’ most enchanting attractions. For filmmakers, it offers a cinematic backdrop that few locations can match.

The inclusion of Mount Polis in a major film project is expected to bring increased attention to Mountain Province tourism. Local tourism advocates hope that once the movie is released, more visitors will be inspired to explore the mountain and experience its breathtaking scenery firsthand.

Beyond its visual appeal, the feature also provides an opportunity to showcase the natural wonders of the Cordillera to a broader audience, highlighting the region as a destination for both tourism and filmmaking.

Adding to the excitement is the popularity of the film’s lead stars.

Donny Pangilinan, an actor and television host under ABS-CBN, is known for his roles in romantic and coming-of-age productions. Belle Mariano, meanwhile, has gained widespread recognition for her performances in youth-oriented and romantic dramas.

Together, they form “DonBelle,” one of the most followed and successful on-screen love teams in Philippine entertainment today. Their projects have attracted not only local audiences but also a growing international fan base.

As anticipation builds for “Tayo sa Wakas,” attention is not only focused on the story and its stars but also on the stunning Cordillera landscapes that serve as its backdrop.

For Mount Polis, the film represents more than just a movie location. It is an opportunity for one of Mountain Province’s most treasured destinations to shine before a national and global audience.

From being a favorite stop for travelers seeking cool mountain air and panoramic views, Mount Polis is now taking its place on the silver screen—proving that some of the Philippines’ most beautiful stories begin in the mountains.
