Tabuk City, Kalinga – Nearly half a thousand displaced and disadvantaged workers in Kalinga will be having a short-term job through funding from the Office of Senator Loren Legarda.

The senator’s office allocated a P2 million budget for Kalinga’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program which seeks to provide emergency employment opportunities to displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers.

The funding was outsourced by Governor James Edduba to cater to another batch of TUPAD beneficiaries in the province.

During the orientation of said beneficiaries on Oct. 02, Governor James Edduba, as mentioned by the Kalinga Provincial Information Office, pledged they will outsource more funding to accommodate more yKalingas in the TUPAD program of the government.

The governor likewise appreciated the efforts of the staff working in the implementation of the TUPAD program, enjoining them to keep working collaboratively.

For her part, Department of Labor and Employment Kalinga Provincial Director, Avelina Manganip thanked Governor Edubba and Senator Legarda for the funding and for the support to the laborers in Kalinga.
