P.9M Marijuana bricks abandoned at private lot in Lubuagan, Kalinga

Lubuagan, Kalinga – Several suspected marijuana bricks were found at a private lot near the national road in Sitio Balangabang, Dangoy late morning of March 13.


Police Master Sergeant Jake Abay Pogloy, Lubuagan police investigator, said the bricks were discovered inside an open blue gallon container and that the contrabands were believed to be abandoned.


Pogloy narrated that the bricks were discovered by the owner of the lot when he visited his property at around 11:00 AM on Sunday.


“Diay nga area ket bagi na diay daga, mapan na kuma bisitaen ket nakita na diay item. Isu nga idi Nakita na, inmay da ditoy station ket inbaga na kadakami,” Pogloy recalled.


Upon arriving at the area, which is 2 meters away from the national road, authorities saw eight pieces of bricks, believed to be marijuana with an estimated street value of P960,000.


The investigator said that the illegal items might have been left by individuals for fear of getting caught in transporting marijuana.

Pogloy added that the checkpoint in Sitio Dinakan in Barangay Dangoy being manned by the 2nd Kalinga Police Mobile Force Company is active 24/7.


The discovered items were brought to the Lubuagan Municipal Police Station for inventory and later be subjected to examination at the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit.
