P246M FMR to be built in Aguinaldo, Ifugao to boost Cardava production

Ifugao, Philippines – A Farm-to-Market (FMR) road measuring 8.397 kilometers is set for construction in Aguinaldo, Ifugao to improve the Cardava banana production in the municipality.

Aguinaldo is the top cardava banana-producing municipality in Ifugao with 5,584 metric tons of annual harvests, making it one of the priority commodities of Ifugao Province as identified by the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP).


Said project was designed not only for commuters living in influenced the area but also to serve as a shortcut route to and from the nearby municipalities that include Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, and Paracelis, Mountain Province.

The local government unit is set to proceed with the bidding process of the project as it was recently given a go signal from DA-PRDP.


Philippine Information Agency reported that the FMR subproject was issued with a No Objection Letter 1 (NOL1) on February 16, 2022, through the DA-PRDP National Project Coordination Office (NPCO).


The FMR sub-project that covers barangays Ubao and Monggayang is expected to benefit about 446 households in the influenced area.


This was the first subproject of the municipality under DA-PRDP.

Meantime, the Municipal Project Management and Implementing Unit (MPMIU) of Aguinaldo pre-procurement conference will be conducted this month. This is for the orientation on the World Bank Harmonized Procurement Guidelines to provide assistance on the preparation of the bidding documents.
