Bauko, Mt. Province – The Balicanao-Am-am road, which used to be a rough road and a tiring passage for residents of Barangay Sadsadan, Bauko, Mt. Province, has turned into a well-paved motorway after its 25 million improvement (Phase 1) was recently completed.

The road project is part of the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) Program, a national initiative designed to deliver services and opportunities in remote and once conflict-affected areas in the country.

On September 12, 2025, the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. and Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr. led the inauguration of said road, which began construction last year and was completed in March this year.

Immediately after, according to the Mt. Province Information Office, the officials led the groundbreaking ceremony of Phase II of the road improvement with P26 million funding.

Bauko Mayor Randolf Awisan, Board Member Joseph Alejandro Dominguez, Sadsadan barangay officials, provincial office heads, uniformed personnel, other OPAPRU officials, among others, joined the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies.

The improvement of the road is expected to bring a significant transformation to the daily lives of the residents of said barangay, like faster transportation, easier access to government services, among others, improved livelihood and economic opportunities, among others.

Under the PAMANA program, as added by the PIO, the PLGU also secured P273.98 million worth of road development projects for 2025 in Sadanga, Besao, Bontoc, Natonin, and Sagada, all aimed at connecting communities and sustaining peace.
