P39M illegal drugs seized in Kalinga from Oct. to Dec. 2021

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Around P39 million worth of alleged illegal drugs have been discovered and seized through various police operations in Kalinga from October to December 10, 2021.


This is according to the data from the Kalinga Police Provincial Office. In said data, a total of P39,192,919.28 worth of suspected marijuana and shabu were confiscated from 16 operations on the abovementioned period.


Of the said amount, P69,034.28 are alleged to be shabu which were taken from police response, buy-bust, serving of warrant of arrests, and search warrants implementation.

The remaining 39,123,885 are believed to be marijuana. These were taken from the same operations and through checkpoints and marijuana eradication.


Additionally, there are marijuana plants and dried stalks that were discovered during marijuana eradication have been destroyed onsite.


Meanwhile, of these 16 police operations, there were 14 individuals who have been arrested, while 1 is at large. Consequently, 14 cases have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Meantime, this December 23, 2021, 40 pieces of marijuana bricks worth P4,800,000 have been intercepted at a police checkpoint in Barangay Bantay. These contrabands were suspected to be transported to Metro Manila.


Three individuals from Metro Manila were apprehended during the operation.
