P74.2M subsidy granted to tertiary schools in the Cordillera, KSU gets P14.9M

Baguio City, Philippines – The Commission on Higher Education granted over P74,200,000 million Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) to different universities and colleges in the region on Friday, Dec. 17, to support students by reducing the cost of their college education.


From the said amount, P14,948,000 was granted to Kalinga State University; P5,837,800 to Apayao State College; P12,200,800 to Ifugao State University; 12,241,200 to Mountain Province Polytechnic College, and P8,625,400 to Abra State of Science and Technology.

Students in several private universities and colleges in the region also benefited from said subsidy: P1,575,600 to Baguio Central University; P181,800 to BSBT College Inc.; P4,393,500 to Cordillera Carrier Development College; P303,000 to Data Center Colleges of the Philippines Baguio; P454,500 to Easter Colleges Incorporated; P90,900 to Keystone Colleges INC.; P4,787,400 to Kings College of the Philippines; P727,200 to Pines City Colleges; P60,600 to Philippine College of Ministry; P1,161,500 to San Pablo Seminary, and P6,120,600 to Saint Louis University.


DPA CHED Chairperson Prospero De Vera III, as reported by Mt. Province Broadcasting Corporation, said students in public universities and colleges will receive P40,000 as subsidy while students in private schools will receive P60,000 from the said grant.


According to him, students will utilize the given subsidy as their allowance and provide for the things they need in their education.
