Pasil candidates support peaceful election

Pasil, Kalinga – As a way of showing support towards clean election, the candidates vying for different positions in the municipal local government unit of Pasil had their unity walk, inter-faith prayer rally, and signing of the integrity pledge and peace covenant on March 18, 2022.

Among the candidates present during the event were the incumbent Mayor Alfredo ‘Chao-ig’ Malannag Jr., seeking for re-election; only candidate for vice-mayor, Benny Magangat; Sangguniang Bayan candidate, Engr. Eugene Batalao, Sr., and others.

The May 9, 2022 candidates expressed gratitude to the Commission on Election, Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Civil Society Organizations, Non-government organizations, and religious sector for spearheading the event.

Despite being tagged as under the orange category or ‘areas of immediate concern’ which indicates a serious armed threat to the area, mayoral candidate Malannag Jr. and other candidates strive to make the municipality ‘a good example of safe election.’
