Pasil candidates to hold election campaign caravan ‘as one’

Pasil, Kalinga – All aspirants vying for the different sits in the municipal local government of Pasil are set to conduct a caravan labelled ‘as one’ starting April 2, 2022 as means to unify all candidates and campaign as one.

Chairperson of Committee on Peace and Order, Councilor Ronnie Bawalan said in an interview that the candidates from councilor up to mayor agreed to have a peaceful campaign.

As what has been practiced in Pasil, all candidates will attend the caravan from one barangay to another instead of the political campaign in other places where a party or group campaigns separately from the other.

The practice, Bawalan explained, is to avoid violence and prevent one party from destroying the image of their proponent.

“This has been a practice ket mayat ti feedback ti tao. Han da lang nga maka-lessen ti gastos ken bannug nu di ket maikkan da ti chance iti fair campaign nga maiwasan diay panagpirdi ti kalaban,” the councilor stated.

According to Bawalan, the candidates coordinated with the barangay officials for the schedule of the caravan.

In the caravan, each candidate is given time to air their advocacies and platform. An open forum will follow.
