Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Pancy Lynette Iddoba, in an interview, explained that through said program, the poor but deserving student beneficiaries are given the opportunity to work, earn and acquire skills they can apply in the real world.

Some of the recipients, she informed, are currently assigned in schools, some in the municipal compound, while others are tasked to do surveys in their own barangays.

The students undergo full-time work for eight hours in 20 days and will receive their wage that is intended for their school expenses when they go back to schooling.

Since Pasil is a 5th class municipality, each of the recipients will be paid P382.91 a day.

Pasil LGU led by Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr. will shoulder 40% of the total wage of the beneficiaries, while 60% is to be paid by the Department of Labor and Employment.

Mayor Malannag encouraged the student beneficiaries to take the program as an avenue to learn the best they can from their assigned tasks.
