PNP and Ladies Club Kalinga conduct free ‘tuli’ and dental mission in Lubuagan

Lubuagan, Kalinga − Around 200 yLubuagans got free circumcision, tooth extraction, and haircut during the dental mission and Oplan Tuli initiated by the PNP Officers and Ladies Club Kalinga in Poblacion, Lubuagan on April 29, 2022.

The PNP Officers and Ladies Club Kalinga is the organization of the wives of police officers assigned in the province.

In a phone interview with Joyce Tagtag, the club’s adviser and the wife of Kalinga Police Provincial Director PCOL Peter Tagtag Jr., she explained that the activity was conceptualized in order to give free circumcision and tooth extraction to those who were not able to get the said services due to the pandemic.

She added that while there are other agencies conducting dental missions and other medical services in the province, their organization wants to add avenues for those who were not able to avail.

To make it happen, the club partnered with the Rural Health Unit - Lubuagan, the Kalinga State University, the Lubuagan Central School, and Lubuagan LGU.

During the event, 101 individuals were circumcised, 65 had their tooth extracted, and there were 51 availed of the free haircut. Moreover, Bong Lee, wife of Cordillera Police Regional Director, PBGen. Ronald Lee and the adviser of the PROCOR Officers’ Ladies Club distributed pairs of slippers, umbrellas and a cone of ice cream to the beneficiaries.

Also, Maria Dawagan of Tanglag, Lubuagan was given a wheelchair and a walker for Linda Bacacao of Poblacion, Lubuagan.

Meantime, Tagtag said that they are now identifying the communities in the province which will be the next beneficiaries of the PNP Officers and Ladies Club Kalinga outreach programs with the aim of building a good relationship with the community.
