Rider overtakes, dies in head-on collision

Tabuk City, Kalinga ̶ A 20-year-old male, driving a motorcycle died after crashing against a four-wheel vehicle described as Pajero, along the Tabuk-Isabela National Road in Agbannawag Tuesday afternoon, May 18.


Case investigator, PSsg. Arnold Canao said that the victim, with his 16-year-old back rider, was driving towards Lacnog when he tried to overtake another rider.


However, he somehow suddenly lost control of his motorcycle, encroaching the opposite lane resulting to a head-on collision with the incoming traffic.

“Idiay linya iti motor met lang, overtake-an na diay kadwa na. Haan na na-control [diay motor] nag-wiggle, ket napan idiay linya iti pajero, pinadas ti driver ti Pajero nga ilisi ngem nasagid latta diay motor,” he narrated.


He said the motorcycle hit the right front tire of the 4-wheel vehicle.

Canao added that because of the speed of the motorcycle, the rider and his back rider fell on the ground with the rider sustaining more damage to his waist and his passenger on his leg. The two were brought to the hospital by rescuers.


Unfortunately, the 20-year-old rider was later declared dead by the attending physician. meantime, the passenger is currently being treated at the hospital.
