Tabuk City, Philippines – The water borne disease-stricken community of Sacpil, Conner conveyed their appreciation to the Municipality of Tanudan for taking action and extending their help to the barangay on May 20.

Sacpil, including neighboring places in Pinukpuk, Kalinga, suffered from an acute diarrhea outbreak after their local water source was contaminated. The Provincial Health Office of Apayao documented a total of 95 cases in the area from April 29 – May 19.

Responding to the emergency, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag personally led Tanudan to deliver jugs of water and biscuits to the community in Sacpil on Tuesday.

“The Barangay Sacpil community would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Tanudan, under the dedicated leadership of Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, Sir Heneral Ludan, and the esteemed Sangguniang Bayan Members (SBL Group), for your generous donation of water jugs with refillable water and biscuits,” the barangay wrote on Facebook.

The community added that the action displayed by the people of Tanudan brought comfort and hope to the barangay.

“Your thoughtful support and care bring comfort and hope to our community. These provisions are a big help to our residents, especially during times of need. Dakkel nga yaman ken dakayo amin!,” they said.
