Security guard killed in head-on crash in Isabela

Isabela, Philippines – A head-on collision in Naguilian, Isabela left a security guard dead, local police said.


The incident took place on Tuesday night that involved two motorcycles.

Ricardo Rufino, a resident of Purok 1, Pinoma village, Cauayan City, Isabela, was then riding his red Honda Click 125 along with his wife and child, while Dennis Banatao, a security guard, and a resident of Purok 1, San Bonifacio, Burgos, Isabela, was on board his blue Honda Wave 125.


When the two reached Barangay Palattao, Naguilian, Banatao who was on his way to his workplace suddenly swerved to the opposite lane, crashing against the motorcycle of Rufino.


The impact caused the security guard to sustain a severe injury in the head that resulted in his immediate death.


Rufino suffered minor injuries and is currently recovering at the hospital. His wife and child are both safe.


According to Naguilian police, the place where the incident transpired is considered an accident-prone area, which is why motorists should take extra precautions when passing through the area.
