Service and repair enterprises accreditation renewal in Kalinga extended until March 31

Tabuk City, Kalinga─Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through DTI-Kalinga Provincial Office grants Service and Repair Enterprises (SREs) who are holders of certificates of accreditation which expired on December 31, 2020 to file their application renewal until March 31, 2021.

The advisory is through the Memorandum Circular No. 21-03 Series of 2021 granting a grace period on the filing of applications for the renewal of Accreditation of Service and Repair Enterprises.

In an interview with Victor Benganio, Consumer Welfare Division (CWD) Trade & Industry Devt. Specialist (TIDS), he said that the allotted renewal period is purposely to give them additional time and avoid penalties since they have been affected by the restrictions of the ongoing community quarantine.

Furthermore, those SREs whose accreditation have expired on December 31, 2019 can still file for renewal but they are not covered under the memo, thus they need to pay certain charges and penalties.

During the said period, SREs shall be allowed to operate under the same terms and conditions, unless their certificate of accreditation is revoked or cancelled by virtue of a decision rendered against said SREs for any reason other than the expiration of the term of its validity.
