Student in CAR received Medallion for Excellence in Switzerland international cook fest

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A young Cordilleran student was conferred with Medallion for Excellence during the recently concluded WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition held at Messe Luzern in Lucerne, Switzerland on October 19 -28.


The WorldSkills Competition is composed of contested activities on various skills such as cooking, landscape gardening, IT Software Solutions for Business, and Industrial Mechanics among others. This event takes place every two years in a member country.

In this year’s competition under the cooking category, the country’s representative is Jonathan Supsupin, a student scholar at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority - Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education (TESDA-CSITE) Main Campus in Baguio City.


Jonathan ranked 9th among 30 participants, receiving the Medallion for Excellence.


In a Facebook post, TESDA- Cordillera commended Jonathan saying, “Your TESDA-Cordillera Administrative Region family is so proud of you!”


Meantime, gold medalists for the cooking competition are Korae Nottveit of Canada, Samuel Santos of Portugal, and Paul PIPARD of France.
