Baguio City, Philippines – Satisfy your craving for authentic local food at the same time promote micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) from Cordillera by supporting them at the 2023 Hybrid National Food Fair.

MSMEs, regarded as the economic backbone of the Philippines, account for around 90 percent of all the businesses, and generate 40 percent of the country’s gross domestic product, recent reports say.

As the primary agency in the sector’s development, the Department of Trade and Industry has been promoting opportunities to widen the MSMEs’ reach of products through various interventions. One of which, is the HNFF which will feature innovative food products.

Organized by the agency’s Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion, in collaboration with the Regional Operations Group of the same, the event will bring together more than 250 MSMEs in the physical fair from the country’s 16 regions.

Embracing digital transformation, another 200 MSMEs will participate in the e-commerce platform with the agency’s counterpart on Lazada for it to have a wider market reach.

Cordillera will be represented by seven enterprises namely, JBV Homemade Food Products, Johnwin Loidz Rolling Store, and Shiraz Smokehaus Food Processing from Baguio; Northern Roots SG Group Incorporated from Benguet; Eba Food Products, and Garcia's Food Products from Kalinga; and Valera's Enterprises from Abra.

A wide array of flavors from agricultural products, cooked and processed foods, and beverages will be offered to fairgoers.

To enhance your trade fair experience, activities such as mukbang (eating broadcast) sessions, learning sessions, cooking demonstrations, wine mixing, and business talks will also be conducted, announced DTI – Cordillera.

The regional trade and industry department invites foodies to “get a taste of the Cordillera region's tatak MSME products. Buy local, support local.”

The national food fair which is expected to stage a wide range of culinary delights will be held on July 12 to 16 at the Megatrade Halls 1 to 3 in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong.
