Tanudan culminates Women’s Month with gender-sensitivity training

Tanudan, Kalinga – Promoting gender-sensitivity, the Tanudan Local Government Unit culminated this year’s Women’s month with a Gender and Development Orientation-Training on March 24 at the Davidson Hotel.


Every month of March, the country celebrates and honors the achievements of women and their contribution in the society.


The Tanudan LGU opted to mark this year’s celebration with a training that raises awareness on gender sensitivity and instills the importance of Gender and Development(GAD) in offices and government programs, according to Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Violy Awingan.

“Nu ammu da iti importance iti GAD ket mainay-nayun da idiay ayan iti budget da and programs and services within their offices, nga dapat kuma ket dagitoy programa tayo tatta ket GAD responsive,” she said.


The training which was graced by Philippine Women Commissioner Amielyn Limbona was participated by the Department of Education GAD coordinators, Violence Against Women and Children desk officers, barangay officials, LGU head officials, KALIPI, and other offices.


Among the topics discussed include the Policy and Mandates of Gender Mainstreaming, Basic Project Management Concepts, GAD Mainstreaming in the Project Development Cycle, and the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines as a tool for Program/Project Attribution.
