Tanudan farmers in Kalinga report success of goat production

Tanudan, Kalinga – Three Farmers Associations (FAs) in Tanudan, Kalinga reported the success of their goat production and that they are planning to focus on producing more goats before selling them in the local market.


DA-SAAD Kalinga said the groups already produced a total of 135 kids this year, 49 are bucks and 86 does. Additionally, the group is expecting 79 does to give birth after 2 to 5 months.


As recalled, the three associations received 239 does and 24 bucks with a total of 263 goats worth P 1,052,000 on March 26, 2021.

Of said number, 112 does and 12 bucks were given to Bawak Darulog Allubaggan Pagugo group, 64 does and 6 bucks were given to Pangol Farmers Improvement Organization and 63 does and 6 bucks were distributed to Mabaca Bumaruan Farmers Association.


The project was funded by the Department of Agriculture- Special Area for Agricultural Development of Kalinga (DA-SAAD) programs aimed at providing farmers with additional sources of income as well as improving food sufficiency in communities.


Meantime, said FAs received additional livelihood assistance such as poultry amounting to P 126,648 and fruit trees interventions worth P13,690.
