Tanudan LGU distributes donations to communities affected by Super Typhoon Uwan

Tanudan, Kalinga – Following the heavy devastation left by the super typhoon in November, donations poured into the Municipality of Tanudan, which Mayor Jaedick Rhoss Dagadag, in an interview on December 5, 2025, described as blessings returning to the people. He expressed gratitude to everyone who showed kindness to Tanudan.

The Local Government Unit distributed donations from various communities, organizations, and individuals to affected areas in the municipality to aid in recovery efforts.

It can be recalled that the town was hit by floods and landslides at the height of the super typhoon on November 9, forcing residents to seek shelter in their arangs and damaging crops, irrigation systems, water sources, footbridges, and school buildings.

Based on data, over P80.1 million worth of agricultural structures, including community irrigation systems, were destroyed, affecting at least 466 farmers. Likewise, nearly P5 million in losses in agricultural crops were validated, affecting at least 266 farmers.

To help Tanudan recover, local officials, private individuals, and organizations sent donations both in cash and in kind—such as sacks of rice, grocery items, potable water, and school supplies.

According to Executive Assistant to the Mayor and Designate Information Officer John Ryan Awingan, the donations were distributed to heavily affected barangays including Lubo, Gaang, Dacalan, Mangali, and Taloctoc. He added that, up to this date, people continue to send aid to the municipality.

Mayor Dagadag, whose heart is filled with gratitude for the overwhelming support extended to Tanudan and the spirit of Binnadang, once again acknowledged all donors who lent a helping hand to the iTanudans after the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Uwan.
