Tanudan LGU distributes about 700 land titles free of charge

Tanudan, Kalinga – Nearly 700 land owners in Tanudan now have their land titles through the ‘Pamaskong Handog’ program of the Municipal Local Government Unit.

Spearheaded by the Municipal Assessor’s Office, said titles were distributed on December 11 and 12, 2023 at Banagao, Poblacion.

The municipal assessor, Engr. Jo Ann Operio. recounted that the program was conceptualized when she discovered these tax declarations of properties in the municipality when she assumed office in September last year. Said parcels of land were surveyed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources some years ago.

As she researched at the Registry of Deeds, she learned that said lands located in Poblacion, Dacalan, Dupligan, Lower Mangali, Mabaca, Pangol, Gaang, and Babbanoy already have titles.

“So kunak baka met mabalin tayo nga pamaskong handog for the people of Tanudan for free kasi nu isuda manen iti mapan mangala or mang-process titulo da idiay ROD adda ngay dagiay mabayadan,” she said.

Operio then raised the ‘Pamaskong Handog’ initiative to Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag which the latter immediately supported. With this, the Municipal Local Government Unit conducted the issuance of the 692 land titles to the people.

As for the landowners who were not able to attend the two-day event, the Municipal Assessor said they will be distributing their titles to them next year.
