Tanudan MHO implements mobile bloodletting activity for adequate blood supply

Tanudan, Kalinga – To accommodate interested blood donors outside Tanudan, the Municipal Health Office personnel devised a means to bring their bloodletting activity closer to donors. On July 23, the MHO went to Dakaran Credit Cooperative in Purok 4, Bulanao, Tabuk City for the said activity.

Under the Municipal Blood Program of Tanudan, a mobile blood donation is regularly being conducted to each barangay in the municipality.

For Barangay Dacalan, they requested to conduct a bloodletting activity at Dakaran Credit Cooperative in Tabuk City in order to accommodate yDacalans who are interested to donate but are currently in the city.

For this reason, health personnel in Tanudan traveled to Tabuk to have the blood letting.

Blood Collected

According to Blood Coordinator Feth Bangngagan, a total of 26 blood units were collected during the event.

The said packs of blood will be going to Cagayan, Isabela, Kalinga, Apayao and Batanes (CIKAB) blood network after screening.

Bangngagan said the network keeps the blood supply of the five provinces, and that people from said places can ask for safe blood from the network should anyone need one.

With the successful bloodletting activity, Bangngagan encouraged other yTanudans who are qualified to donate blood to participate in the next blood donation drive to ensure an adequate supply in the municipality.

“Blood donation is safe and haan tayo nga mabuteng ta ada met lang assessment and screening nga pakakitaan nu mabalin ta ag-donate ti dara. I-practice tayo nga agbasa kadagiti verified health information regarding blood donation tapnu ti kasta ket mas malawagan tayo kadagitoy wrong information regarding blood donation,” she said.
