Tanudan places 5 barangays under 14-days lockdown


Tanudan, Kalinga – Five barangays in Tanudan have been placed under surgical lockdown for two weeks, entry and exit within the vicinity of the barangays shall be prohibited except to patients who need to travel for health purposes.


Through Executive Order No. 2021-25, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag put Barangays Mangali Centro, Poblacion, Anggacan, Dupligan, and Pangol under surgical lockdown starting September 23 to October 6, 2021, unless earlier revoked.


The order was made in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 cases in the said barangays since as of September 22, there are 2 cases in Mangali Centro; 5 in Poblacion; 1 in Anggacan; 2 in Pangol; and 2 in Dupligan.

The mayor appealed to the constituents of the 5 barangays to adhere to the guidelines of the surgical lockdown and not to take the precautions seriously.


“Isunga maki-cooperate tayo koma kadagitoy health workers tayo a mangimatmatun iti aramiden tayo. Haan tayo kuma a pilosopo pay lang,” he appealed.

General Guidelines


Under the Executive Order, all households shall strictly stay inside their houses. As to the access to food and basic necessities of the residents, the barangay officials will be the ones to purchase for them.


Also, sari-sari stores and other business establishments within the 5 barangays shall remain open provided that they adhere to the minimum health protocols and that they have to make sure their customers or buyers will only be the barangay officials who will be purchasing the residents’ basic necessities.


During the duration of the lockdown, entry and exit to the 5 barangays shall be prohibited even to Authorized Persons Outside Residents. However, patients who needed to be transported or traveled for health purposes shall be allowed to pass through the barangay checkpoints, which shall be fully activated to ensure that no residents will be wandering around.


Mass gatherings are likewise prohibited and tourism activities are suspended.


Meantime, all returning residents and OFWs shall be subjected to triage and swabbing at the Tanudan borders. Additionally, returning residents shall be quarantined either at the Barangay Quarantine Facility or at their houses, depending on the inspection and approval of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams.


Lastly, swabbing those who died at their home is mandatory.


Violators of these guidelines will be arrested by the Tanudan police or the barangay officials, and appropriate charges shall be filed.
