Tanudan political candidates sign integrity pledge, peace covenant

Tanudan, Kalinga – Candidates running for the different positions in the Municipality of Tanudan this coming May 9 elections, joined the signing of the integrity pledge and peace covenant as a way to support a peaceful and orderly election.


Tanudan Election Officer Mae Lynne Gallamoy-Oyando informed that the candidates, together with the Municipal COMELEC Campaign Committee (MCCC) members, have convened on March 18 at the Golden Berries Hotel and Convention Center for the Candidate’s Forum.

Among the activities, she said, is the signing of the integrity pledge and peace covenant that signifies agreement to follow rules and regulations for a peaceful election period.


“Daytoy isig-signify na iti covenant within the candidates a haan da nga agar-aramid iti madi and they will uphold the rules and regulation of the COMELEC specifically dagidiay election laws tayo,” she explained.


Also, during the activity, the MCCC also oriented the candidates about the implementation of the Commission on Elections Resolution 10732. The body also discussed the Fair Election Act, sizes of campaign posters and the designated common poster areas, and the prohibited acts during the campaign period, and the observance of the minimum public health protocols amid the pandemic.

Moreover, a Vote Counting Machine (VCM) roadshow was also conducted during the event.


Meantime, there are 27 candidates vying for municipal posts in Tanudan this 2022. Of the figure, 2 are running for the mayoral race; 3 are vice mayor aspirants; and 22 are seeking spots for the Sangguniang Bayan.
