Tanudan’s 8th Kape Festival opens Saturday

Tanudan, Kalinga – Experience Tanudan’s culture and heritage through the town’s 60th Founding Anniversary and 8th Kape Festival at Banagao, Poblacion this weekend, June 24 and 25.


The celebration will open with a mass and the inauguration and blessing of the Tanudan Municipal Hall building.

A formal program at the Banagao Poblacion Gymnasium will follow which will be graced by Dr. Lope Santos III, Secretary of National Anti-Poverty Commission who was invited as the guest speaker.


The afternoon of June 24 will be contested activities such as the Literary Musical Contest which will be composed of solo, duet, and hip-hop competition; cultural presentation; combative sports presentation; and the agro-fair contest.


From 5:00 p.m. onwards, it will be the Search for Miss Tanudan 2023.


Meantime, activities for the second day include a parade, a formal program with Asec. Virgilio Lazaga, and indigenous games.


This year’s celebration will culminate with the awarding of prizes to winners.


As he invites the public to experience the town’s Kape Festival, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag conveyed that the festivity is a celebration of Tanudan’s rich culture as it will be featuring activities that make it more fun to stay and visit the municipality.


"Let this event be a demonstration of our solidarity with the rest of yTanudan people in sustaining this momentum for equitable peace and progress,” he added.
