Tabuk City, Kalinga – Tanudan recorded no new drug personalities during the second quarter of 2026, a development that local officials attributed to the municipality's sustained anti-illegal drug campaign.

During the 2nd Quarter Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) meeting on June 16, PLt. Reynald Gallawon, Deputy Chief of Police of the Tanudan Municipal Police Station, reported that no new drug personalities had been identified in the municipality during the period.

Gallawon also disclosed that individuals previously listed as street-level drug personalities have already been cleared from the monitoring list.

The report reinforces Tanudan's reputation as one of Kalinga's leading local government units in the fight against illegal drugs. The municipality, under the leadership of Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, was previously recognized as a national awardee of the Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Award for its anti-drug initiatives.

Aside from maintaining a clean record on drug personalities, Tanudan also remains free of monitored marijuana plantation sites despite continuing eradication operations in other parts of the province.

Mayor Dagadag welcomed the report and assured residents that the local government, together with law enforcement authorities, will continue implementing programs aimed at preventing the entry and spread of illegal drugs in the municipality.

“Kanayon tayo nga ibaga nga iti droga awan iti napintas nga epekto na dayta. Perdien na ti pamilya ken perdien na ti masakbayan dagitoy u-ubbing tayo. Tatta nga awan iti barbaru nga na-identify nga drug personalities tayo ket itultuloy latta iti LGU ken iti kapulisan nga agtrabaho tapnu ma-maintain tayo nga awan iti ag-gamit wenno aglako iti droga iti ili tayo,” Dagadag said.

The mayor reiterated that illegal drugs destroy families and threaten the future of the younger generation, stressing the need for continued vigilance and community cooperation to keep Tanudan drug-free.
