Tabuk City, Kalinga – Dagupan Centro Barangay Captain George Esteras warned the public to secure their belongings and valuables following another incident of thievery on August 21, 2022, at the center of the City.

Esteras told Guru Press Cordillera that a complainant from Mayangao Street in Dagupan Centro claimed his car was opened and some of his belongings were stolen on Sunday night. This prompted Esteras to check the CCTV footage at the barangay.

Esteras and his officials found through CCTV footages that the suspect roamed around Dagupan Centro between 12:00 – 2:00 AM on August 21 before chancing on the car.

Based on the recording, the officials surmised the man might have stolen from other people apart from the complainant, as he was seen counting money while walking in other streets.

“Iti ustu nga naggapwan na ket ditoy Eniquez ngay dir-diretso idiay Jose Abad Santos, diay boundary mi iti Laya West, addan sa met lang nakulimbat na idiay ta agbilbilang met idiay,” he said.

Esteras related the man later proceeded to Mayangao Street, where he opened the complainant’s car and took some of his valuables. The man went next in front of the Double A building, where he allegedly took two bags.

For the public to help in identifying the suspect, Esteras posted the footage of the suspect on Facebook. This led to the suspect’s family to immediately turn the man in to the Tabuk City police.

According to the barangay captain, the suspect claimed to have taken around P17,000 that night.

With the incident, the barangay captain is once again reminding the public to secure their things and money, especially at night. He also advised the people who have cars parked at the side of the road to ensure that their vehicle is locked before leaving them.
