Tanudan, Kalinga – Governor Ferdinand Tubban stressed that the success of an organization is the result of hard work, helping one another, and the desire to leave a legacy. He stated this during the turn-over of an Heirloom Processing Shared Service Facility to the Gaang community recently.

Through the Integrated Natural Resources and Environmental Management Project – Livelihood Support 2, the Gaang Tribal Unity for Development was provided P1.9million worth of rice processing building and P702,000 customized rice mill facilities.

Represented by his Executive Assistant, Elizabeth Balais II, the governor conveyed before the farmers in Barangay Gaang that the big challenge of organizations is its sustainability and growth, adding that if there is no clear vision, cooperation, unity, and heart to serve, success will be elusive.

“Uray nu adda amin kanya tayo nu saan tayo aggaraw, saan tayo agplano, awan ti puso tayo nga agtrabaho para iti daduma a tao, narigat a magun-od iti baligi. Amin a baligi ket adda kadwa na a rigat, panagtitinnulong, ken ayat a mangibati iti legasiya,” he said.

Apart from this, the governor also emphasized that Tanudan needs to be given extra attention to avoid forest denudation and degradation because of OBSERVED unsustainable farming practices, as it is one of the places considered as areas of interest being a watershed.

“While giving our farmers facilities, equipment, seed capital, and support are very helpful, we need to educate them and persuade them to adopt sustainable farming practices as well as help them market their produce,” he said, adding that the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Trade and Industry gave the shared service facilities to the Gaang Tribal Unity for Development to help promote sustainable farming.

The governor concluded his message enjoining everyone to protect the environment and Tanudan saying, “if we work together to protect the environment, to protect Tanudan, its mountains and forests, we may be able to save not only our lives but our future. Let us continue working together for a better today and for a brighter tomorrow.”
