Tinglayan allots P3M fund for college scholarship program

Tinglayan, Kalinga – One college student in every household in Tinglayan, Kalinga are entitled of scholarship grant from the municipal government, as part of its efforts to help families defray educational costs.

The local government recognizes every parent’s aspiration to have their children complete the tertiary level to gain insightful knowledge for higher opportunity of employment and eventually help the family rise from current status.

For this year 2023, Tinglayan officials under the leadership of Mayor Sacrament Gumilab have allocated P3 million fund for student-beneficiaries, informed Bartholome Aboli from the Mayor’s Office.

Aboli explained the total fund will be divided into the overall number of college student recipients of all households in the locality. The quotient will be the amount of grant that will be distributed to each grantee.

Requirements

One student in every household must submit required documents to the Municipal Hall. List of requirements are as follows: 1 original and 2 photocopies of Certificate of Enrollment or Statement of Account or Assessment Form; 3 photocopies of school ID with student’s signature; Barangay Certificate for the cash assistance; and 3 photocopies of Valid ID of the claimant with signature.

In case, a student is unable to attend the pay-out, the student-recipient must provide an authorization letter.

Deadline

Submission of requirements will end on Friday, March 31, 2023.
