San Isidro, Abra – Two men who had been missing for two days were found dead by the roadside in Barangay San Marcial, San Isidro, Abra on Friday, December 3, 2025, with police now working to identify the individuals behind their deaths.

The victims were identified by police as Rajani “Batang Abra” Domine, 31, and Bong Rhendall Barbosa, 20, both residents of Bangued.

In an interview with Balitang Solid North, Police Captain Ronaldo Caguioa, chief of the San Isidro Municipal Police Station, said Bong’s body was first discovered by a couple who were on a date by the roadside.

According to the report, the boyfriend was about to pick flowers for his girlfriend when flies suddenly appeared, catching his attention. When he looked closely at where the flies were coming from, he saw Bong’s dead body.

Shocked, the couple immediately notified authorities, who rushed to the area to investigate.

“Di nakita diay lalaki nga ada ti kua sabong diay kayo, apa na koma alan ta ited na diay kadate na. Ket kua, sakto di alan na koma, rinmuwar dagijay ngilaw (flies). Di kitan na nu anya nagapwan na, ney ada met tao diay baba. Ada metten ti cadaver en diay baba sunga nagtataray da kanu ta nashock da,” Caguioa relayed.

Upon arriving at the scene, responding police officers found three bullet shells about 200 meters away from Bong’s body. As they searched the area, they discovered the body of the second victim, Rajani.

As for the cause of death, Caguioa said there is a possibility that the victims were shot based on the recovered bullet shells, though this has yet to be confirmed pending examination, as the crime scene was too dark at the time of the investigation. The police station has yet to release a full report on the incident.

“Base diay recovered nga basyo ti bala, ada ti tendency na nga shooting,” said the police officer, adding that the motive remains unknown.

In a separate interview, Rajani’s live-in partner, Judy Anne Villastiqui, shared that Rajani texted her around 12:40 p.m. on December 3, saying he would borrow her motorcycle, to which she agreed. Around 1:00 p.m., he went to get it.

Afterward, Rajani and Bong left together, saying they were going to look for someone who would borrow the motorcycle. Once the motorcycle was lent, Rajani mentioned they were heading to Barangay Cosili. From that point on, Judy Anne said he stopped responding to calls and messages—until the tragic discovery on December 5.

“Nagtext gamin sir ti mga 12:40 p.m. kasjay (on December 3) kanyak nga isalda na diay motor ko. Tatan, wen kunak, di kuan inmayen ti agalaunan (1:00 p.m.), inmay na inala. As of this writing, an in-depth investigation is ongoing to identify the suspect(s) and the motive behind the crime.
