Baguio City, Philippines – Two graduates of Saint Louis University (SLU) brought pride to the university after placing among the country's top performers in the July 2026 Master Plumber Licensure Examination (MPLE).

Continuing SLU's tradition of producing board exam topnotchers, Josen Kian Rint Sinag and Nemuel Aarron Aswigue Nipolo secured the Top 6 and Top 7 spots, respectively.

Sinag earned a rating of 89.60%, while Nipolo followed closely with 89.40%.

The two were among the 4,907 successful examinees out of 6,237 takers, resulting in a 78.68% national passing rate.

Also joining them in the list of successful examinees were 149 other Louisians from the SLU School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA), bringing the university's total number of newly licensed master plumbers to 151.

In a Facebook post, Saint Louis University congratulated its new professionals, saying, "Congratulations to SEA and the 151 new Louisian Master Plumbers on this outstanding achievement!"

A master plumber is a licensed professional responsible for designing, installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Beyond ensuring the reliable supply of clean water and the safe disposal of wastewater, master plumbers play a critical role in protecting public health by preventing water contamination, sanitation-related diseases, and unsafe plumbing installations.

Obtaining the license requires passing a rigorous national examination that measures competence in plumbing design, building and sanitary codes, hydraulics, water supply systems, drainage, mathematics, engineering principles, and professional practice.

The July 2026 Master Plumber Licensure Examination was administered on July 11 and 12 in testing centers across NCR, Baguio City, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Rosales, Tacloban, and Tuguegarao City.

Topping this year's examination was Jim Rey Del Castillo Bacarisas of the Cebu Institute of Technology-University, who posted the highest rating of 91.30%.
