PNP BARANGAYanihan; Kalinga police stations launched own versions of community pantries

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The spirit of bayanihan through community pantries has become a trend all throughout the country as one means to alleviate even for a while those greatly affected by the Covid-19 crisis. Joining the cause, the different police stations in the province also launched their respective community pantries during the week.


Dubbed as PNP Barangayanihan, around 670 individuals in Kalinga benefitted from the various pantries, the Kalinga Provincial Police Office Community Relations reports. Funding was pooled from personnel contributions and donations of stake holders.


Showing unique ways to help out, the police community pantries were set up as follows:

Tingalayan MPS


In Tinglayan, they installed a community pantry in front of the police station serving champorado, juice, coffee and distributed 1 kilo rice to the recipients.


Lubuagan MPS


The personnel in Lubuagan MPS fed the community in Sitio Sukiap, Barangay Tanglag with arozcaldo through their ‘Barangay Kusina’ and gave basic kitchen necessities such as sugar, salt, detergent, cupcakes and disposable face masks.


They are likewise planning to extend their project to Barangays Lower, Upper and Western Uma, and Barangay Mabongtot.

TanudanMPS


For the Tanudan Municipal Police Station, dubbed as ‘Libreng Sopas, Bread and Palamig’, their pantry in Sitio Dumanay, Barangay Babbanoy also offered macaroni soup, breads, and juice for those in need.


The personnel of Tanudan MPS with several civilian volunteers also helped in hauling sand from the riverbank going to the St. Mark Evangelist Church which is under improvement. The distance from the river to the church is at least an hour.


Rizal MPS


The Rizal MPS, on the other hand launched a mobile pantry in Sitio Cadao, Babalag West on April 26, dubbed as ‘Saranay ti UmiliIta a Pandemya.’


The pantry offered basic and essential goods like rice, vegetables, eggs, canned goods, noodles, coffee, toothpaste, shampoo, face masks, and face shields.

Tabuk CPS


The Tabuk City Police Station with the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo members visited houses in Sitio Sotto, Bulo to distribute sacks of 10 kilograms rice to at least 30 families. Additionally, the personnel also provided assistance to a family in Barangay New Tanglag.


PinukpukMPS


Personnel from the Pinukpuk MPS launched a ‘Libreng Lugaw Tapnu Saan Maulaw’ and ‘Free Coffee For All’ just in front of the police station in Barangay Taga.


Goods and foods extended to the people include arrozcaldo, coffee and grocery items such as canned goods, toothpaste, soaps, noodles, salt, and sugar.

Pasil MPS


In Pasil, at least 90 families benefitted from the community pantry placed in Barangay Amdalao. The Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo members of Pugong and Malucsad also assisted in giving goods such as sugar, salt, sardines, eggs, noodles, detergent bars and dish washing liquid to the people.


Balbalan MPS


While, in Balbalan, the police personnel opened a ‘Barangay Kusina’ in Barangay Poblacionwhere they served cooked foods for the people.
