‘Use your power not to divide but to unite, not to destroy but to build’-Gov. Tubban to Tabuk leaders

Updated: Oct 14, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Joining the city in celebrating the 21st Matagoan Festival and 72nd Tabuk Founding Anniversary this June 22, 2022, Governor Ferdinand Tubban challenged local leaders to use their power ‘not to divide but unite, not to bring sorrow but bring happiness, not to destroy but to build.’

In his message delivered by Provincial Administrator Atty. William Puday Jr. at the City Hall Canopy, Tubban reminded that practice of unity and harmony is paramount to maintaining Tabuk as the “City of Life.”

This, he said, shall start from the officials. “In order to be one family, we need to consider taking care of each other, resolving conflicts in a peaceful manner, forgiving and understanding,” added the governor.

In addition, Tubban stressed the need to accept and look at the positive side of diversity. Despite differences, multicultural communities like Tabuk, he said, have emerged successful and progressive through nurturing their oneness as one people.

Further, the governor asked leaders to work harder for the city to evolve and move forward for a better Tabuk.

“Put in place changes that will benefit all the residents of the city. Good change is measured in the positive changes in the lives of the people,” Tubban emphasized.

He concluded by calling all Tabukeños to ‘remain one family, one people, one city, resilient and united, not only during celebrations but in all the days of our lives.’
