Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga’s wheelchair racer, Jerrold Mangliwan, has once again brought pride to the country after winning a gold medal in the 2022 ASEAN Para Games in Solo, Indonesia.

Mangliwan who comes from Dupag, Naneng, Tabuk City suffered from polio when he was two, paralyzing both of his legs.

The experience, however, didn’t discourage the would-be world-class athlete from excelling in sports.

Through his determination, Mangliwan emerged as one of the victors in the 2022 ASEAN Para Games.

The Philippine Sports Commission announced on Monday, August 1, that Mangliwan won the gold medal in the men’s 100-meter T52 race.

The said gold is the fourth one obtained by the Philippines in this year’s ASEAN Para games.

In a Facebook post, Councilor Samuel Suma-al thanked Mangliwan for his efforts to bring pride and honor to Tabuk City, specifically Barangay Dupag.
