Woman trapped in burning house in Alcala, Cagayan dies

Alcala, Cagayan – A 73-year-old woman trapped in a burning house in Alcala, Cagayan was found dead in the ruins at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

In a report, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Alcala through Cagayan Provincial Information Office said they received a call from a concerned citizen informing them of the fire incident at Sitio Macabibi, Dalaoig village in Alcala.

The fire officers immediately responded but when they arrived on sight, the house was already burned down due to light materials used.

Authorities recovered later the body of Carmen Sacobo.

MDRRM Officer Herome Ibarra said the victim was alone at the time the fire broke out.

Investigation by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) as to the cause of the incident is underway.
