yKalinga Paralympian to lead Philippine athletics team in Asian Para Games

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Jerrold Pete Mangliwan of Kalinga will be leading this year’s Philippine para athletics delegate in the upcoming 4th Asian Para Games.


Said event will be taking place in Hangzhou, China from Oct. 22 to 28, 2023.

Mangliwan is the team captain of the nine-man athletics team from the Philippines. He will be competing in Men T52 100 and 400 meters.


Other Paralympians who will be composing the Philippine athletics team include King James Reyes, Andrei Kuizon, Rosalie Torrefiel, Cendy Asusano, Jesebel Tordecilla, Arman Dino, Daniel Enderes Junior, and Ronn-Russell Mitra.


Mangliwan and his teammates will be leaving the Philippines for the 4th Asian Para Games on Oct. 16.


The yKalinga wheelchair racer has been hauling medals for the Philippines in various international games. Among his recent wins includes a gold medal in Men’s 400m T52-54 and silver in Men’s 100m T52-54 during the 5th Indian Open Para Athletics International Championships held in May this year.
