yTanudan student represents Kalinga in Mr. Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador

Updated: Jun 11, 2023

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga bet Shawn Michael A. Barila successfully recorded the title of being the first-ever Mr. Cordillera Youth Autonomy Ambassador on July 30, 2022. Will the province grab its second win this year?

Godwin B. Bomosao, a criminology student, from Pangol and Mangali, Tanudan will try to conquer the creative search launched in the region as platform to promote the cause of autonomy, especially to the youth.

Among the five candidates who attended the screening on Thursday afternoon, Bomosao got the nod of the judges with his performance.

“With a very good looking, smart and eloquent representative, a back to back win for Kalinga is achievable, and hopefully, Shawn will crown an yKalinga as his successor,” captioned one of the judges, Rene Callueng, on his post with the candidates.

Though, it is his first time joining pageant, the 22-year-old student of Kalinga State University assured that he will persevere to bring back the title.

He shared he was encouraged to compete by his family and friends who pushed him to ‘gain experience in the field.’

Mr. Ambassador Kalinga was supposed to be his first pageant experience in December 2022 but he backed out due to school-related obligations.

This time, he is determined to be the youth’s frontline advocate of the region’s quest for autonomy.

He will be joined by Miss Kalinga 2023 - Angelina Lhodievin Dupaya as his female counterpart.

“To my fellow young people and yKalingas, I hope that you support us in this journey and we assure that we will do everything in our capacity to have the title,” Bomosao said in a statement.
