100% PASSING RATE: IFSU  Social Work-pioneer batch, all 56, cleared September 2026 licensure exam

LAMUT, Ifugao — All 56 graduates of Ifugao State University’s (IFSU) Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) who took the September 2026 Social Workers Licensure Examination passed, giving the university’s pioneer batch a 100% passing rate.

The achievement places IFSU among the country’s top-performing schools in the examination category for institutions with 51 or more examinees, based on the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on September 17, 2026.

BSSW’s inception

The BSSW program, housed under the College of Arts and Sciences at IFSU’s main campus in Lamut, was introduced in academic year 2022-2023 as one of the university’s new academic offerings.

Its establishment was aimed at supporting the university’s mandate while responding to the growing need for accessible social welfare education and services in the province.

Following institutional planning and a feasibility study, IFSU expanded its academic offerings beyond its traditional programs in agriculture and forestry to include social science-related courses.

With the local availability of the BSSW program, students from Ifugao gained an option to pursue a social work degree without having to travel to larger educational centers such as Tuguegarao or Baguio City.

Pioneer batch

The 56-member pioneer batch became the first group of IFSU Social Work graduates to take the licensure examination, with all of them successfully passing.

The university celebrated the achievement following the release of the examination results by the PRC.

“Congratulations, IFSU Social Work pioneers! Your IFSU family is proud of you! Haggiyo!” the university said in a social media post on September 17.

Former IFSU President Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon and incumbent President Freddie B. Caday also congratulated the graduates through their respective social media posts.

IFSU shared the 100% passing rate in the category for schools with 51 or more examinees with several other institutions.

These include Assumption College of Davao (56 of 56), Bulacan State University-Malolos (57 of 57), Mindanao State University-Marawi City (61 of 61), Davao del Norte State College (66 of 66), Bicol University-Daraga (114 of 114), and Caraga State University-Butuan City (116 of 116).

The result marks the first licensure examination performance of IFSU’s BSSW program since its establishment in 2022-2023, with the pioneer graduates recording a perfect passing rate.
