18-yr.-old student falls off bridge in Cauayan City after motorcycle collision

Cauayan City, Isabela - An 18-year-old student, a victim of a motorcycle accident, was discovered lifeless at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, following a search, rescue, and retrieval operation.

The student had fallen off the Alicaocao Overflow Bridge in Cauayan City, along with his motorcycle, around 11 a.m. on the same day, following a collision with another motorcycle.

According to witnesses, the victim, John Benedict Andres, a resident of Carabatan Punta, Cauayan City, was crossing the bridge when his motorcycle collided with an oncoming one.

Due to the impact of the crash, both the victim and his motorcycle plunged into the murky river beneath Alicaocao Bridge.

To recall, a similar incident occurred at the Capatan Overflow Bridge in Tuguegarao City last month.

The rider, Nino Fuentes III, miscalculated his driving due to a non-functional motorcycle headlight while traveling over the bridge.

He lost control of the steering wheel, resulting in the accident, and his lifeless body was discovered two days later.
