Tabuk City, Kalinga – Two individuals were caught by the police in a pot session Tuesday evening, March 22, 2022, in Barangay Magsaysay.
The suspects whose identities are withheld were a 34-year-old resident of Magsaysay Centro and a 21-year-old construction worker of the same place.
According to Tabuk City Police Station, they were about to serve a warrant of arrest for theft against the 34-year-old as he was allegedly involved in stealing 3 female goats in Barangay Dilag last March 30, 2021, when they found him with another individual using suspected illegal drugs.
The suspect and his mate were at a shanty when the police arrived at around 7:00 PM. There they were caught having a shabu session. Both were arrested on sight.
Additionally, a small heat-sealed sachet suspected to be containing shabu worth P2,040 was recovered from the shanty. Drug paraphernalia such as aluminum foils, lighters, a pair of scissors, and two cellphones were seized during the operation.
An inventory of the recovered evidence was done on-site in the presence of the media, Department of Justice, and a barangay official.
A case of violation of Sections 11, 12, and 15 of the Republic Act 916 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is now being prepared for filing against the suspects.
