2 motorcycle riders in Tabuk City injured in road accident


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Two motorcycle riders were injured after they collided along the Provincial Road at the boundary of Barangay Magsaysay and Appas around 8 o’clock in the evening of January 2, 2022.


The riders were identified as Christopher Baluga, 20, riding a Rusi motorcycle, and Mary Carbonel, 34, riding a red XRM. Both riders sustained head lacerations, with Baluga additionally having suffered a right leg fracture.


According to the initial investigation of Tabuk City Police Station – Traffic Management Unit, the two were heading towards Dagupan, with Carbonel driving ahead of Baluga.

When the two approached the intersection in front of the Talipapa in Magsaysay, Carbonel was said to have slowed down to give way to a vehicle crossing when the motorcycle driven by Baluga allegedly traversing the road very fast collided against the rear portion of the red XRM.


TMU reported that due to the impact, both riders tumbled on the ground, giving them head lacerations and a right leg fracture to Baluga.


The two were rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital and are now in stable condition. Meantime, the involved motorcycles were brought to the custody of TMU pending further investigation.
