37-yr.-old LGBTQ in Baguio City rapes minor he met on Dating app

Baguio City, Philippines – A member of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer(LGBTQ) community was accused of raping a minor he met on a dating application on December 13, 2022, in Baguio City.


The 37-year-old suspect and the victim met through a dating app with the latter believing that the suspect is the same age as he is. This is according to the report of the Baguio City Police Office Station 6 as released by Bombo Radyo.

The two agreed to meet in person and it was only then that the minor victim found out that the one he was talking to online was actually far older than him.


The victim refused the suspect’s invitation to enter his boarding house. However, the 37-year-old man allegedly dragged the victim inside where he proceeded to sexually assault him.


The victim told his mom about the incident which resulted in the suspect's arrest. The man shall face criminal charges.


Earlier, Baguio City Police Office revealed that 87 rape cases have been documented since the start of the year. Forty-nine of the figure are statutory rape, while 16 are incestuous.


It was further disclosed that the youngest among the victims is a 2-year-old.
